About Me

I am a Christian wife and mother of four. From a young age, the Lord laid on my heart the desire to be a "missionary doctor pilot." Today, I am a licensed physician with a private pilot's license living in Bangkok. I am not a "missionary" in the traditional sense, as my husband and I are supporting ourselves monetarily and we do not do Christian "work" full time. Neither am I practicing medicine or flying planes. But God has laid the groundwork for my dream, and I am currently blessed to be spending nearly all my time taking care of the four treasures God has given me.

The name of the blog comes from Psalms 37:4 "Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." God has already given me so many of my heart's desires, and He is continuing to make my heart in tune with His plans for me. I am daily learning to delight in Him more. The patience part points to the godly characteristic I most struggle with. My corny joke is that I needed patience, so I became a doctor (who has patients). But honestly, the Lord has helped me with this so much and continues to refine this in me. I also have to be patient in order to see how and when God is going to fulfill the dream He has given me for being a "missionary doctor pilot."

At this time of my life,  most of my posts will be about mothering and living in the crazy city of Bangkok. Medicine and aviation may pop up occasionally. Maybe you will become as curious as I am about how God is going to integrate the training He has given me to serve Him, maybe you will just find my stories entertaining, maybe you will learn something. Welcome to this little snapshot of my delightful life.

Blessings,

Rachel
